During the February 2007 AOSS workshop, we developed the following outline and some presentation material on the following topics. Please click to download documents.
Group #1: Linux Desktops & Distribution, Localization, Internationalization (I18n) & OpenOffice
Implementation
Based on this development, we want to develop the course material for the five topics. We shall be following the same working arrangement last time.
- One member will act as coordinator
- Members will go through the materials and present their feed back
- The group will finalize course outline for one day course on these topics (8 hours training)
- The group will divide the work among themselves and prepare the material required for conducting one day training
- Some of you have sent their proposals under these topics. So, they will have an opportunity to make a presentation and share with others
- On 3rd Dec morning, there will an hour presentation on how the AOSS training materials can be prepared in a "learning object" way and based on sound pedagogical considerations. The presenter will introduce the use of the Python-based eXe software. The participants are encouraged to use eXe. But for this workshop, content and outline are more important
What is expected from you?
- If you have any suggestion for course content for your group, present it to group for evaluation
- Good course material you are using, which can be added
- Question and answers for testing participants
- Hands on session
- Training methods based on individual experiences in their country
- How to localize training materials to suit their country needs
- If you want to share any of your material used by you, please send it as an attachment, so that we can burn all these in to CD and distribute it to the group.
